Reviewing the preprints

The growing importance of preprints has generated some worries about the lack of refereeing, previously supplied by the good efforts of journal editors. Now there’s a blog that seeks to remedy this.

PhysComments Comments on arXiv papers (founded 1st December 2004)
"Our site automatically analyses recently published preprints and tries to contact appropriate authors to review them. The idea is basically similar to the Mathematical Reviews, a service that sadly does not exist in Physics, but we concentrate on more immediate answers to prepublication. Initial coverage for this analysis is hep-*, astr-ph, math-ph and gr-qc."
